Mackay Wilderness River Trips offers rafting adventures designed and priced specifically for the family. All our Family Trips include professional Kid Wranglers. The Kid Wranglers are school teachers dedicated to educating and entertaining both the kids and parents. They keep the kids busy with arts and crafts, organized hikes and exploration outings, water safety instruction and even how to cook a Dutch over dessert! The Kid Wranglers are not guides. Their only responsibility is to make sure every child has a river adventure to remember.

Mackay has Family Trips on the Main Salmon River. The trips run five to six days in length. The Main Salmon River offers a whitewater level that is safe for ages five years old and up.

On our Family Trips we run four different types of rafts. This allows the more experienced or older kids an exciting, challenging adventure, while the younger kids enjoy a safe and fun ride. We offer large comfortable boats where the guide sits in the center and handles all the rowing. Guests can just sit back and relax or fish and sight see. The paddle boat with a stern frame enables the younger adventure seekers the fun of paddling while one of our guides has ultimate control over the raft. The paddle boat without a stern frame allows parents, older kids and the guide to challenge the river as a team. For the true adventure seekers we have double and single inflatable kayaks. In the kayak, each guests negotiates the river alone, while still under the watchful eyes of our professional river guides.
